Work Package 1 will focus on the analysis of CO2, NOx, and acoustic emissions reductions achievable with shape adaptive rotor blades. SABRE will develop a multi-disciplinary helicopter emissions model by combining comprehensive rotor analysis, high-fidelity coupled aerodynamic and structural solvers, surrogate models of the morphing technologies, and emissions models, creating the most detailed, transdisciplinary, and comprehensive model of its type. This analysis will quantify and optimise the emissions reductions achievable with each morphing concept, and will consider the impact of multiple morphing mechanisms on a single blade.
