Lead investigator for the SABRE project, Dr Benjamin Woods, and work package 1 leader Dr Juergen Rauleder recently travelled to Donauworth, Germany to meet with key experts at Airbus Helicopters.
An overview of the project was presented and detailed discussion then took place. The SABRE team addressed the risks associated with developing and optimising the morphing technologies and how runs and tests are going to be carried out. The feedback received from Airbus was positive and was much appreciated by the SABRE team. From this meeting it confirms that the SABRE project is on track and inline with current industry strategy. We are looking forward to continuing our engagement with the European helicopter industry with a view towards one day realising these novel technologies in future low emissions aircraft.
