Futures – SABRE join European Researchers’ Night in Bristol

On the 28th of September, the University of Bristol SABRE team took part in European Researchers’ Night. Over 300 school children between the ages of 9 and 14 attended the day session at We The Curious. At the SABRE helicopter stand they could learn about helicopter blades and the different forces at play which allow them to fly. They could also make their very own helicopter balloon and see the vertical lift for themselves.

The evening session brought many people, young and old, to the event and the balloon helicopters remained popular! The public were shown the technologies being developed within the SABRE project and the impact this new technology could potentially have.

We look forward to being a part of Futures at European Researchers’ Night next year.
